So, you've just finished a juice cleanse. You’re probably feeling pretty awesome right now, and you’re ready to celebrate. But before you rush to toast your successes, try these tips for a smooth transition. Use this experience as a kick-starter for healthy habits, and to extend the life of your cleanse.
What To Eat Post Juice Cleanse
Day One
If you’ve been on a juice-only cleanse, it’s time to welcome food back in to your life! Or if you’ve done the apprentice option, you get to dial up the volume. Blood sugar and insulin have been tamed over the past three days, meaning that cravings are diminished and your appetite can be relied upon to guide your food choices. Eat when you’re hungry, but stick to wholesome, plant-based options for today.
Day Two
Start small when it comes to animal protein. Eggs and white fish are the easiest to reintroduce first, so go slowly and don’t rush back to anything too heavy just yet.
Days Three and Onwards
Today you can bring back other elements of your daily diet but listen to your body, rather than return to old habits. With plant based dedication comes newfound wisdom: you may find yourself more sensitive to the effects of caffeine, or hunger for healthier foods. After a cleanse your body is better equipped to know what is good for it and what is bad, so tune in to what you’re being told.
