The Banana Smoothie To Make You Sleep Better

Just like a chocolate milkshake, only it's not killing you. Ok, bit much. This smoothie recipe has all the chocolate flavour to please your sweet tooth, only it's actually nourishing.

Healthy chocolate starts and ends with cacao. The roasted bean is one of the highest sources of magnesium on the planet. This mineral aids sleeping, fights acid and neutralises toxins. Magnesium is deficient in roughly eight out of ten people so eat more chocolate.

The cacao benefits don't just end there. It's also an energising aphrodisiac that balances hormones and elevates your mood. Bam chicka-wow-wow. 

Beyond the cacao, this recipe smothers you in multi-vitamin kale. It's not all bitter though. We use dates and banana for fruity sweetness and pumpkin seeds bring healthy fats, protein and a creamy texture. Pumpkin seeds are also one of the best sources of magnesium behind cacao.

  • Frozen banana - 1
  • Kale - 2 cups
  • Pumpkin seeds - 1/2 cup
  • Cacao nibs - 1 tablespoon (cacao powder is fine too)
  • Dates - 3
  • Almond Milk - 1 1/2 cups
